Yes, I did, and started to play around with the font and image. I was having trouble scaling the image so I just exited out of that. Now I can't edit the home page - though I can edit the other pages.

I'm wondering if you have run into a similar problem that I encountered yesterday:

Can you view the home page, and it looks like it's in edit mode, but you can't actually edit anything?

I suspect I did something similar where I started editing and then exiting the page without saving or discarding my changes - though I can't confirm that's what I did before I encountered the weird behavior.

Andrew just posted a reply to the forum link I have above. Maybe this will help you:

"This is an annoying bug that has proven difficult to fix. If you see it in the future here's a quick way to fix it: Click "edit" on the page, let the page refresh, then exit edit mode again. That should clear the page from being in that weird half-edit state."

NOTE: In order to get the edit button to display again I had to clear the site cache first.

I actually ended up calling the hosting service and they talked me through uninstalling it and then reinstalling. They thought it might have something to do with old WordPress files in my account. So far I haven't had the same problem - but I proceed sloooowly, just in case!
