how do I, stop the main2 appearing in certain sections

In using a theme named Loadfoov2 and it's great but I've noticed that in certain pages I get two side panels in pages I don't want them to appear. I've tried using the pagetype in the individual pages concerned but they still remain.
Any ideas Please. I want more control over the code for each page
