How do you use the same block on multiple pages?

Hi, there,

Could someone please suggest the best way to use the same block on multiple pages?

Or every page, for that matter?

Thanks a lot,

Hi, and welcome to the c5 community!

if you want to copy the same content or block settings across your site, you actually have more options.. If you are the developer of the site you can hardcode the block into your pagetype, so it will appear at all your instances of this pagetype.. this, however, is not very easy to deal with, as you are forced to to know which options you want in your block from the controller..

But If you are an editor of the site, and only want this block to be present at selected sites, I suggest you use the "scrapbook" function.. you simply add your block to one site, and then click on the block, and choose "copy to scrapbook"... after this you can add the same block on other pages by choosing "insert from scrapbook" on your selected areas at other pages..

you can see a demonstration video about the scrapbook here:

if you want to hardcode it into your php files, let me know, and I will help you... :-)

Thanks very much!

Does that allow you to change the content on one block, and have the other blocks change, too?

(This is a great CMS. After over a year of not getting Drupal to work, I wish I'd found you guys sooner!)

yes, if you edit in one of these blocks, the content will be updated in all instances of this block, when you approve the changes..

and yes, Concrete5 is a very nice userfriendly cms, with a very fast learning curve... I have only been working with this cms for 3 months, and I love it! - and don't hesitate to start new threads if you have any questions.. :) - just remember to close the threads by choosing an answer that solved your problems, so other users can benefit from this, when they have similar problems :-)

Glad I could help you..!
