How to install addons from Desktop

Hi, I am a newbie with Concrete5 and I cannot figure out to which folder to upload my addons I have bought and how to install them from within the CMS. Could anybody help please? I do not want to connect through the community site but I do want to just ftp up my files from my local computer. This is a simple question, I hope there is a simple answer. Thank you.

And how do you activate those addons once you have uploaded them to root/packages ?
