How to make content dynamic/common across all pages so that they change on single edit?

Hi guys!
I want to build a 30 page website with concrete5. What I want to do is get certain blocks i.e. header, sidebar & footer common for each page. What current happens is that the blocks are created, but the content inside the block is not there. Thus, forcing me to re-enter content for each block. Plus, what happens is that if I want to make 1 edit to the website (change a link in the navbar), I have to do it separately for each page. The best case scenario would be that if I make an edit at one page on the common areas (i.e. header etc), it should reflect across all pages.
I wanted to ask - Am I missing something here? Please help!
