make sure you uploaded the image then in the editor (i guess your using the content block)

then add image from the top

it will make an inline image

I respectfully think Mnkras is not understanding the question. I too have been having the same problem as Immergente. When in the content block, if you want to insert an image (not the image block, but the image button that allows you to add an image in the content), it is hard to know what the url of your image is. One can figure it out. But, instead, I wish that when you clicked on the image button, a window of your local files popped up, and you could pick which image to upload (as the image block does). Immergente, is this your problem?

That is exactly the problem and question all my users ask.

You can add an image but you have to know exactly where it is and whether it needs global reference or internal type ones.

Hopefully I'm not being redundant. I'm pretty new to C5 and just realized that I had been entering images in the content block the hard way - clicking on the tree image icon and then having to know the image's exact path. No! The right way to insert an image in the content block is in the upper left hand corner of the content window block, right next to the C5 logo, click on "add image" then your file manager window pops up to get the image you need. If the image is not uploaded yet on the file manager, not to worry. You can, in mid-swing, upload the image from your local computer (you still need to know where you keep you images on your computer) and once uploaded, click on that image icon and choose the image. Then, to touch things up, go to the tree image icon on the TINYMce tool bar to give the image specific styles and floats (make sure the image is selected when you do this). Knowing this has helped me not have to know the url path and will hopefully help others too.

That is one way but clearly long winded.
The tiny mce image option is there as in other cms add an image to a page but here for some reason the browse function button is missing.

I moved away from C5 for a few months a little while ago as profit seemed to be over-riding quality, ease of use and sense.
Clearly we are getting somewhere with the documentation and ability for new users to install etc. but c5 is losing it's edge and other cms are gaining fast.
I still prefer c5 but, there are a couple of others which are focussing on the user experience (ease of use and clear terms) and not relying on the geek mentality.

You made my day! This was exactly what I was looking for. As it turns out it is even possible to use the image within a link tag. I used it to mark external links.
