How to reorder menu?

I am trying to reorder my navigation by moving the pages up or down. However they don't seem to re-sort. It seems like if I move an item over another my only option seems to group it as a sub item.

My only guess is I am in the wrong place or doing the wrong thing to sort them.

How do you resort the order of navigation items?

goto the dashboard
goto sitemap
grab a page's icon, don't let go..
move it around, if you hang over a page name it should indicate letting go would copy/move it..
if you hang between to pages, or after the last page at a level, you should see a little line between them show up after a second. drop it there and you're changing sort order.

(i made a video and attached for ya)

I have no clue why I was having problems with this yesterday.

I read what you said, tried it out and it worked. Seems very logical, how I managed to miss this when trying the other day is beyond me.

Thank you for the quick response.

I can drag and drop pages to make them children of other pages, but I can't get a line to allow me to move pages between others or to the end. Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry, should know that by now.

it works, sometimes you have to give the thing a second to recognize you're trying to put it between pages instead of inside of a page..

slow down, see if that helps

Slower doesn't do it for me, I held the page in between two others for close to a minute, never got a line. Any other ideas? Thanks

So I just checked and it works in Opera, so it must be a Firefox problem. Would still like to find a fix, but it's not pressing anymore. Thanks all

I have the same problem with internet explorer, I ended up using the interntet channel on my WII to change the order because it uses opera. It worked fine on there. Just like you said, drag the icon and a line will appear.

1) this should be fixed with 5.3.1.1. The sitemap drag and drop stuff is behaving in ie7/8 for folks using that, if yours is off try clearing both site cache and browser cache.. if its still punky, setup a demo athttp://getconcrete5.com/demo and tell me if it still misbehaves there..

2) you're editing your concrete5 site with your WII?? Thats fricken awesome.

I'm having the same trouble with re-ordering the site map. I've tried with FF3, IE7, Opera and Chrome with C5.3.1.1 installed on my server. I can drag items so they become children of others but I'm not getting the line that shows up between the other items. Any suggestions? I am new to C5 so this very well could be a PEBKAC error.

I'm having exactly the same problem - I can't reorder the pages apart from putting them into sub categories. The little line just doesn't appear.
I'm using v5.3.2 and I've tried it on Mac 10.5.6 on in Firefox 3.5.1, Safari 3.2.1 and on PC (XP) in IE7 and Opera 9.64.
I think it's just not working - anybody have any ideas?

if you click a folder/page icon you should get a popout menu that includes something like "Change Sort Order" in the middle. Click that and you turn the "mode" on.

Yes, I hadn't spotted that and that works. For some reason I didn't expect the functionality of clicking on the word to be different to that of clicking on the icons. Maybe it should be made more obvious in the future - I may just stupid but others might be like me?
