Please help me to display search results. It is not displayed at all.

When you insert a search in a block for the first time, you should see this:
"The search index does not appear to exist. This block will not function until the reindex job has been run at least once in the dashboard."
Try going to your dashboard and doing this if you haven't already

I had the same issue till I found the resolution for this as below:
Dashboard -> Sitemap -> page search -> hit "setup index" that placed on the right side of the page -> Marks Areas you wish to index and choose whether whitelist or blacklist and save.
That works fine for me....

Took me forever to find "Setup Index"; I didn't even know that existed!
