Image sizing
Permalink
Could someone please assist me? I'm simply trying to add an image to a block. I've loaded the image in file manager. When i uplaod it to the site it is huge. I've been able to resize it when I paste it to a content block, but I cant get it right. I'm just guessing at the size. Isn't there a way to basically say, I want this image to fill up this block?
Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to have it automatically resize to fit whatever block it's in, but it's not that difficult to figure it out on your own -- place an image block on a page, select the image, and in the "Width" box, enter a number -- start with 600. See how big it is on the page. Is it too big? Then edit the block and change the width to something smaller, like 500 or 400. Too small? Change the width to something larger like 800 or 1000. This trial and error process is the best method I can think of. The trick is to not worry about the "height", only the "width" (the image block will automatically determine the height based on the width setting). On the bright side, once you've arrived at a good width number, you don't have to repeat the trial and error experiments anymore -- just always use that number.
HTH!
