Image upload error
Permalink
Hi,
I'm trying to upload a .png image with a size of 300kb and I got this error message:
An unknown error occurred while uploading the file. Please check that file uploads are enabled, and that your file does not exceed the size of the post_max_size or upload_max_filesize variables.
File uploads: 1
Max Upload File Size: 50M
Post Max Size: 50M
I almost completed the site edition but suddenly got this error.
Any idea on how to fix it?
Thanks.

Hi Ekko, thanks for the answer.
I checked the file extensions allowed and the access permissions. The error still is going on, even if I try to upload files with different file types. Could it be related to the server configuration? Can I upload the file manually?
Thanks,

It could be that your hosts have for some reason changed the permissions to your site. Check your files folder on server, and check the permissions to make sure you have write, and execute 777. You can do this via ftp for most ftp clients, or through the file manager provided by your host. Right click check permissions or sometimes its a button in some host cpanels.
It could also be a change in max file upload size, but it would usually say exactly that if that was the case. Best bet is to directly call your host to see if there were any changes on server if its not folder permissions server side.
You should also be able to upload them to a server folder, and add them with the "add incoming" option in c5's file manager.

Hi,
I contacted the hosting service support, and they confirmed that the permissions were not modified.
I'm having this issue after moving the files to the root folder to go live with the site. How can I deploy a new installation without losing the changes I made?
