images not showing in IE - cant work out why

Hi there, I seem to be having some image probems but cannot work out why - example page:

http://www.centreforworkandlearning.org.uk/employers/courses/...

the images ALL display fine in firefox, but in IE6/7/8 various images aren't displayed

all images have been added via a content block using the add image link. Oddly some seem to have absolute paths - iewww.www.sitename/files/xzy/123/abc.jpg... but some seem to have relative - /files/xzy/123/abc.jpg

I have cleared the cache, re-scanned all images and for the life of me cannot get them to display in IE at all.

At first I thought it was the peek-a-boo bug but based on the situation described below it cant be a css issue:

Even if you just paste the actual url of the image into IE you can't see it (but in firefox you can) - try pasting the following into IE/Firefox:

http://www.centreforworkandlearning.org.uk/files/7412/8982/3688/Us_...

in firefox you will see the logo, in IE you wont - any ideas anyone? It's driving me nuts and my post christmas brain cannot cope! lol

Did you switch servers?

if so and even if not I suggest you use the rescan option under the file manager on the images.

select all the images that don't show in the filemanager and then at the top select the rescan option

Have you tried completely removing one of the images (from both the page and the filemanger) and uploading it again?

hmm will try that now :)

edit: weirdly that did not work :(

I took out the top logo (University of Sussex) out of the system. Re-uploaded it (gave it a different file name 1st just in case that caused confusion) put this new one into the page and STILL it doesnt appear in IE :( :(

edit2:

have just noticed the logos my client uploaded were HUGE in filesize..maybe this is the issue. The original logo in jpg format was 581k(!!) - just re-saved as an 8k gif and put that in the system and all works... so for the moment case closed :)
