Install theme

I have purchased a theme and downloaded it to my mac, where it is placed in a folder with subfolders etc.
Until now I have not been able to install the theme in concrete5. Must all single files be transferred to /packages? This appears to be the only way to do it.
Hopefully, someone can help.
