Specifically andy states:

"As Franz said, we have put zero effort in on mobile at this point, but going forward our mobile strategy with the core is going to be less concerned with "mobile themes" and user agent detection and more concerned which just building a responsive menu bar, a fully responsive dashboard and core theme (core being the white theme that you get on login, register pages). Obviously our new design relies on hover for a lot of feedback so we will have to tweak this behavior on mobile, which we fully intend to do."
