Is it possible to turn off the pop-up screen after log in?

My boss hates that screen that pops up with Concrete5 news and form submissions and such, when he logs in to the website, or hasn't been to the website in a day or so.

Is there any way to turn off this screen?

I think this is in an old version because I have not run into it.

You can disable it by putting this into config/site.php

define('ENABLE_NEWSFLOW_OVERLAY', False);
