Is the RSS in XML or javascript?

I'm using the rss widget in the site builder to add rss feeds to my website.

Is this putting the rss feed in XML format, therefore being good for SEO, or is it inserting the feed in javascript?

Any help is appreciated!

The default RSS displayer block parses the feed and outputs HTML/XHTML.

I believe it uses SimplePie -http://simplepie.org/
