Is there a quick way to change titles of images in File Manager?

I am building some photo galleries (based on jordanlev's Sortable FancyBox Gallery) and have uploaded a few dozen photos. What I now want to do is give them each a Title which will appear as a photo caption (in fact I want to start by removing all the Titles and leaving them blank so I can fill in the captions later).

For every image or file I want to rename it is taking a lot of time - and 6 mouse clicks - as I have to go into each file's Properties, click on Title, edit it, click to save it, close the pop-up box. My changes also don't show in File Manager immediately unless I refresh the page which is quite annoying! Is there any way to speed up this process? For someone who is used to pressing F2 in Windows and instantly renaming things it is very frustrating!

Thanks

I guess that's a no then... could it be improved in future? There are batch processing options for pages, right?

Two solutions here:

1) Go to the file manager in your sitemap, check the box next to all of the images you want to change, then choose "Properties" from the little dropdown menu above the list (it has two stars in it -- "**"). Here you can do a bulk edit of properties, so if you want to blank them all out you can do that.

2) I have another addon in the marketplace called "Deluxe Image Gallery" which lets you edit the titles and captions directly from the block editing window, and when you first create the block it will keep the titles blank instead of filling in the file name. There's also some other advanced features it contains. This addon is not free like Sortable Image Gallery though:

Thanks so much Jordan, helpful as ever - I figured there should be some way to blank all the titles at one go but would never have thought to try the ** dropdown menu, maybe it's just me but surely that's not very intuitive!! But at least it works...
If I have to do a lot more image gallery stuff in future I would definitely consider the Deluxe Gallery add-on.

Yeah, I don't know where they got "**" from -- very unintuitive for sure. Looks like the entire dashboard is getting a facelift in the next version of C5 though so hopefully this will become more intuitive in a few months.
