Is there a way to hide members from showing up on the front end of the site for anyone to see?

Yes.. no.. maybe? I have to be doing something wrong. The member page is supposed to be able to be used for a member directory so I can't imagine there's no way to control who shows up and who doesn't. Right now the admins and super admins show up which can't be right.

I also noticed that only the avatar and the username show up on the page. Is there no way to control what information shows up on the list? (IE: Name, address, phone, email)

I know this is an old thread but I thought I could help (a little).

First, you need to have public profiles enabled. You probably know that already otherwise you wouldn't be able to see members.

Secondly, you can set the permissions on the members page. To see the members page, you have to show the system pages in the sitemap. Click on the members page and choose "set permissions". Then just un-check Guest. Now the members page won't be wide open for everyone to see. If a person clicks on the members link, it will redirect to the login/register page. All in all it works pretty well.

Ultimately, this has limited functionality because it still doesn't allow you to exclude certain users from the member list. Looks like you can get this add-on that will help to manage user lists better:

Hope this helps!
