It doesn't backup!

Hi again!!
I'm having trouble when I try to make a Backup in Concrete5 Dashboard.
I don't know why when I go to 'Backup Database' in the Dashboard it shows me 2 existing backups that are no longer in the './files/backups' directory. I also try to delete them but it doesn't.
I really don't know what happened with those backups files.
So, when I try to make a backup it just refresh the page and doesn't make the backup.
I want to delete those 2 previous backups and try to make a new one, but since it doesn't delete them in the dashboard I was looking in the database, but i couldn't find the backups.
In which table should I look for the backups??
Or what should I do so I can make my backup??
I hope you can help me, Thanks :D
----SOLVED------
I had to reinstall Concrete5. I copied the backups just in case and try to restore Concrete with the backup.
The problem was because I upgrade Concrete5 and it just delete the backups.

Backups are files outside the database (that is the whole point of them). They are only stored in /files/backups/.
I dindn't know that, Thanks.
It's just because I saw them I thought that the backups might be in the database, not like the whole backup but at least the date, the location, etc. I'm wondering why Concrete5 is still showing me the backup files.
When I restored my webpage I was having an error because in the backup file there was a package that I didn't have so I have to install that package. I don't know why but I think or want to delete completely the fail backups to see what happends, but I don't know how to delete them completely
Is there a way that I can see some logs or something that can tell me what's going on when I tried to make a backup? I was looking on the 'logs' table but I couldn't find anything.

Hello!
I'm having the same problem, only the start point is somewhat different: Softaculous offered me to upgrade to 5.5.1 and I chose to let it back-up the site too.
Now I have a backup present in Dashboard -> Backup Databases, that cannot be deleted (it just refreshes the page when trying to delete). I have identified the backup file in /files/ and deleted from there but it still shows in Dashboard->Backup databases.
Also cannot create a new backup, it simply refreshes the pages in about 5 seconds and no new backup appears in the list.
Please help anyone as I cannot afford to loose the entire site in case of a problem, due to lack of backup.
TIA,
Lian

Hi again!!
I didn't solve the problem, I had to reinstall Concrete5 and just be careful when upgrading and backing up the "backups" folder.

Hello,
thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately reinstalling Concrete5 is not an option for me as it is hosted at a hosting company where I don't have much access.
Maybe we can find an answer to this problem eventually.
Thanks anyway,
Lian

afaik, The backup listing simply looks in the /file/backup/ directory. It's possible that there is a filename in there that is giving that routine trouble. Do you have ftp access? If so I would copy those .sql files to your computer first(VERY IMPORTANT) and then delete all files in that directory besides .htaccess.
This should let you create a new backup. If not it could be because your backup files are too large(possibly due to a big logs table).

Hello and thanks for your reply.
The /files/bakup directory had one .sql file (the one that wouldn't delete) along with the .htaccess that was empty. I checked the permissions on folder as compared to another site that is ok, and they where 666 instead of 755. I changed the permissions and deleted the old backup file and copied in a new .htaccess from the other, working, concrete5 site.
Now the old backup doesn't show in the dashboard but still cannot create a new one.
Couldn't be that big backup as it is a new website with about 20 pages. I did a backup at mysql level (in cpanel) and it resulted a 1.1 MB uncompressed SQL file.
I come to think that it might be a problem of permissions and don't know if possible to reinstall concrete5 over this crippled one to fix the permissions but without loosing the dataabase as I don't have any valid backup to it (or at least not a backup that can be easily restored through the restore backup feature in dashboard).

Phew... got off the hook...
I changed the /files/backup permissions to 777 and it started to backup again. Case closed for me. Don't care what happened exactly as it is working now and I can reinstall easily if I need to.
Thanks to all!
