Keywords vs Tags

I need help on what the differences is between usage of Keywords vs Tags? and what is the best way to use them. I have two search blocks, both use them, and not sure the best way utilize them for the customer? Or what is the future plans of C5 for them.

one big difference is that "keywords" searches a group of properties like the name, description, and tags fields, while "tags" will only reference the tags column.
