Logged in but cannot see edit buttons
Permalink
Hi, I am pretty new to Concrete5 but pretty savvy IT wise. I have a problem with my site in that I can log in to edit it and it tells me at the bottom of the page I am logged in, but the edit page, dashboard and other buttons at the top are not present. There is a space at the top of the web page where the buttons normally appear but I cannot seem to get them to display.
I have tried restarting and clearing the cache to no avail, any ideas?

Make sure you are logged in as admin. If you added another user account and are using that then you will need to enable permissions for that user account to do any editing.
The account is definately an admin onne, and now when I try to log in it fails to log me in and just returns me to the original screen. Definately not a wrong username or password because when I put in a wrong username or password I get re-directed accordingly.
I think it may be something to do with IE9 because I have managed to log in with Firefox on the same PC.
Any other ideas??

It could well be the cookies in IE. Stick with firefox and you should be fine.
Hi, I am using Firefox as well but when I go to a page I do not see the Edit Page button at all.
It does seem to be an IE9 issue, when I log in from work with IE8 its ok and I have installed Firefox and that is ok. It was working fine with IE9 originally but I suspect one of Microsofts patches killed it! and I cannot be bothered to take off patches one by one to see which one! I will stick with Firefox for now unless, like yellowsequoia, that stops working!
Thanks for the help guys.
