main.css is overridden by something

I did a little editing in the main.css of the dark choc template, added a background image, redesigned auto nav text
all was working fine

then I tried to add a background image to the page name.
I went to global scrapbook and inserted the background image.

The image didn´t show up and furthermore, all the edits I did in the main.css don´t show up anymore too.

so I tried to edit main.css. I tried to delete it and upload it new. I changed the template, deleted dark choc and uploaded it new.
Nothing happened. It seems like the main.css was not read anymore or something is overriding it. I can´t figure out what it is.
Can anyone help?

I did clear the cache

I vewed the page source now, and it seems to me that the update I did earlier is overriding main.css
The update must have installed a new main.css somewhere
do you think that´s possible?
