Missing bg images and code in edit mode

While working on editing a site (I did modify some php files and one sql table, but not the C5 core files), I noticed pieces of the editing options missing in edit mode (random background images and the whole wisywig editor). Look at this screen grab. Could anyone tell me wy pieces would start disappearing in edit mode? Or, could this be from my client cutting and pasting MS word content? I can't even check and see now, because the whole wisywig is gone.
try to look for JavaScript errors in the statusbar of your browser, might give you a first hint..
Upon further inspection of the broken elements to the page in edit mode, I'm seeing that this only happens in the browser I work in, firefox for Mac. all other browsers don't have this missing of random visuals problem. any idea why editing visuals like background images and the wisywig may not be showing in Firefox only? Any idea why items at random would not be loading just for this browser?
