Missing new page

I have added a new page with permissions that only the administrator can see it till I have it just right. But when I go back in to continue editing it I can't find it? The other pages all have a tab at the top and this new page doesn't.
did you publish it the first time? if you didn't open in through the sitemap in the dashboard
OK I found it on the site map in dashboard - thanks - now I tried moving it - but I can't select another parent group.
first go to the page exit editmode, then click on it and hit move then drag the icon
I am not having much luck with this. The only way I can see the missing page by going to the dashboard - site map. I can then see it under another page. When I click on that page I get a menu and choose MOVE then the screen says click on a new parent page. When I click on the appropriate parent page right down in the bottom left hand corner of teh screen there is a symbol with a yellow exclamation mark and it says "page error"??? I still can't see this page in edit mode??
