Moved website

We moved our website from Dreamhost to Go Daddy. We have tried to log into our website to work on it and it says access denied. We are using all the same passwords user names that we have been using. I know basics but do not know anything about this. Can you help us find out how to get back into our website?

You might have to rename the database in the config file for your c5 installation..

I'm assuming you transferred the database as well. There might be a difference in the database username/password now.

Example:

myHost1_c5user

godaddyHost2_c5user

If the prefix did change, you will have to go into FTP to manually change it. Visit this path here:
htdocs/c5install/config/site.php

Open up site.php in your config editor and edit lines 3, 4 & 6 to match your new server database connection info.

Is the website "Live" and if it is are you just struggling with signing in?
What is the URL?

Yes it is live, yes, we are struggling with signing in the way we did when it was with Dreamhost. Go Daddy says it is not something they have anything to do with.

Okay, so we have at least established that the database is okay,
Have you tried the "Lost Password" link in your login area?

Yes, we have tried what we used to use before the switch. This is the first time we have tried since the switch.

You have a custom login form at the top of your site that does not show the forgotten password link,
That was why I asked you to try the link in my last reply...

Do you receive the email from the system with the "Change Password Link"
Pikecounty replied on at Permalink Reply
Sorry. No, I have not received an email with "Change Password Link"

Try this one that goes to your dashboard..

Make sure you enter your registered email address in the Forgot Your Password box and not your USER NAME..
