Multiple users and permissions

Is it possible under advanced permissions to have individual users (many of which belong to a group) be given permission to access and edit their assigned page.

For example, I'd like individual business owners to be able to edit their own page and have the admin review and approve it.

I've read the advanced permissions page, but am still unclear about this seemingly simple setting.

If you manually set individual permissions to each applicable page and DO NOT set the user group permissions on the same page there should be no problems. Your permissions will then be set to the most restrictive (good in this case) editing rights per page. You, as administrator, can check permissions to approve and will not check that for the individual users.
I believe you'll find it pretty straight forward once you start implementing the permissions.
