Nav bar will not update

I am using Plain Yogurt theme and the nav bar is old school and dated. I see in the theme illustration when you select themes, that the Plain Yogurt theme shows a bar at the top of the page that is much nicer and more up to date. I have cleared the cache and tried the update, but it says that my current site and theme is up to date already.

What can I do to get the nav bar updated? Do i have to buy an additional addon?

When in edit mode, go to "header" and choose "add a block",
Choose the "Auto Nav" block, leave it set to the defaults and click "Add",
Then hover over the "header" area again and this time choose "Custom Template", from the drop down choose "Header Menu" and click "Save"
That should give you a horizontal header menu....
You could also put that in the "header nav" area at the top of the page..
