Navigation Bar has no more room for new pages' links..help.

Hi,
I have read most posts on the navigation bar, but still don't see the solution for this...newbie here.

I have added various pages and their titles look good, on a single line, along the top horizontal bar...but once I added a new page, now it "shifts" the other links to the left, and on top of/"behind" the banner and the website name...

I am using the default theme/plain yogurt.

So, how do I customize the block that has those menus to like "start a second line", under the current horizontal line or level?

I tried using that block's custom templates, but only had one to pick from and that did not do the trick.

Thanks in advance, y'all.

if you give me a link to your site, I can see what you mean... that would make it easier to fix it.. :-)

OK, I just added the pages back on the nav, and so it looks all overlapped on the top header Nav Bar, behind the top of the banner, see? I need to have the autonav bar "grow" with additional pages, yet stay on a border away from overlapping into the banner field....

the site ishttp://migueldemelli.c5host.com....

Plus, where it says "Miguel Demelli" on the left, also overlapping, that is the "Site Name" from the dashboard, and if I try to leave it blank, it defaults to the word "concrete5 Site"..so, can that be removed as well from Header NavBar?

Thanks for your help!

it's all about css in this case.. have you modified anything to the theme?

the theme looks vanilla, you can try making the text smaller, removing some of the space between them, getting a wider theme etc

@Mnkras: yes its the default vanila yogurt theme.

A wider theme could do it...but regardless of theme, I'll eventually have many links and cannot limit the top autonav to just 5 or so links.

The larger issue is the "absolute positioning" of the picture banner vs. the autonav bar's size. With added links, it sets up a second line...but it "grows into" the banner space below it...

...and THAT is modifiable I am sure, but am too new to know where yet...

@pixel8: No I have not changed anything; I did remove a footer element (the sign in link) only; on the header.php file, I have looked but cannot figure out what to change or take out.

I do not yet know where the css template info is, etc...can you help me modify it to allow the growing links/autonavbar to not overlap?

I believe the header.php states that it uses "absolute positioning" and is why it actually allows extra room IN EDIT MODE only; but once done, it "crunches" the autonav bar "into" the banner field...they overlap because of the positioning..but I do not see in header.php where the "position=?"
type of thing.

I am new but I can learn and follow steps well, if they could just be shown to me.

Thanks to all in advance,
md

hi again,

I am pretty sure I can help you with the css to make it suit your needs - but to do so I need access to your ftp, to modify your files, and I understand if you don't trust me enough, to give out your login details.. but alternatively I have to make a clone site of yours to figure out how to fix the theme, and that would be quite some work..I won't be able to do that before next week.

If you do trust me, you can pm your details or email them to me at : stephan@pixel8.dk and I will be happy to help you right away, and I will of course promise to keep them confidential..!
