Need help updating my websites from PHP 5 to PHP 7.2

So my hosting server company last night changed our PHP from 5 to 7.2.

This has caused some of my websites to display this error

cannot use concrete\core\foundation\object as object because 'object' is a special class name

The servery company switch us back to 5, and everything works again, however, we need to switch to 7.2 for security reasons.

Any idea how I can update my websites to be PHP 7.2 rather than 5.6.36?

What version of Concrete5 are you using? I believe the current v8 release is 7.2 compatible.

Using 8.3.2 on some of them, and one of them has 8.4.0

It's possible the issue is with your theme too, not the core. But I thought 8.3.2 and 8.4 were 7.2 compatible

Can't you ask if PHP7.1 would be sufficient ? That should run good with concrete5 v.8.3+

only 8.4.0 and above are compatible with PHP 7.2
v8 versions before 8.4.0 are all compatible with PHP 7 before 7.2
