Never enters edit mode

Hello,
I can't get into edit mode using admin and password. I do not get an error it just goes to homepage with the login to edit page. I am new to Concrete 5 but have been in edit previously. THought maybe password error so reset password successfully. Also tried on different computers and IE and Chrome; so cache not a problem. Your help greatly appreciated.

Its possible that there is a conflict on your home page blocking the edit bar from appearing.
Once you've gone through the normal log-in process, can you then reach the dashboard via your browser's nav window (ie. typing inhttp://yoursitename.com/index.php/dashboard... ) ?
