New admin user can't get to the dashboard

I set up a new admin user and when they log in and click on the dashboard it just brings them to a front end page that says Control Panel?

I originally set this user up with a new group called SUPER ADMIN that has access to everything and when they log in as just that they get the admin toolbar across the top of the page without any buttons on it. Then when I add them to the ADMINISTRATIVE group the buttons show up but when you click on them it again brings you to a blank front end page that says Control Panel on it?

(I assume you are using the simple permissions model).

Have you given them view access to the Dashboard in the sitemap? Select "show system files", click "Dashboard"->"Permissions" and give them view access.

The "Access" tab in the "Sitemap" and "Sitewide Settings" left-hand sections also have options to control specific access.

In "Sitewide Settings" there is the "Other Permissions" section where you can get even more granular.

No that's not iy. Superadmins should have access to everything. And I only have two groups .. Admin and superadmin and right now they're a member of both.

Ok, but there can be only 1 super user (the user whom initially installs concrete).

"Administrators" is just a default group with a lot of permissions (but not all). Any other group you make, regardless of what permissions you give them, will never be as powerful as the super user.

Unless you override some system files only the super admin will have total and unlimited power <evil laugh here>.

I don't think this fact will solve your problem, but it's a common misconception.

I guess I'm just wondering what the right procedure is if you want to set up an employee with full rights access so they can build sites for you. Not sure what other permission I can give someone aside from making them both an admin and a super admin. Right now doing that doesn't even give them access to the dashboard??
