New Message email notification

I would like my members to receive an email notification when they receive a new message on the site. I have the email working as I can send password reset emails, but I cant get it to send email notifications when a new message is received.
I still can't seem to fix this!
I know this is late but you have to make the attribute for it. I just figured it out today! But here is the screenshot of the attribute.
What version are you on? I recently updated to 5.5.1 and my send email notification stopped working. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I get it back up and sending notification emails?
