New Page auto inserts content

I am customizing the default theme. When I create a new page, the long header image is inserted automatically for each new page added. I cannot see how this is done and how to undo it, (so that a new page created will not insert that).

dashboard->Pages and Themes->PageTypes-> hit defaults and change the content,
