New site, login page cannot be found

I have just started to create a new site with concrete5.4.2. I installed it four days ago and have been editing since. Something has happened and we are not able to login to edit any pages. When we click the login to edit page we are hit with a "page not found" error. I can go to url/dashboard and I get a login page, but as soon as I try to login it says "page not found". Everything has been working fine til now. Please help if you can, thanks!

Concrete 5.4.2
Linux Server
PHP 5.2
mySql 5.0

Hi,

When you say 'WE' has someone else been fiddling?

What url are you using?

Your domain.com or domain.com/index.php?

Can you access the server control panel?

Hello!
Thank you for the reply. I was the one who installed concrete, but my father is the one adding content. So he is to blame for fiddling. :)

Url is: bigdadsbargains.com

Not sure which control panel you mean; I can get to the control panel for the hosting/domain but not concrete5's control panel. I am unable to login to conrete5, as the page (/index.php/login) says "Page Not Found".

-But-

When I go to bigdadsbargains.com/index.php/dashboard (manually) I have a page that asks for the login, but then next page /index.php/do_login gives the same "Page Not Found" error.

Thanks!

Ha!
Good old Dad...

I meant server control panel, not C5.

How is the the root/config/site.php, does it have the right stuff in it?

The other thing is, it has happened with other people. You are calling:

<link rel="stylesheet" media="screen" type="text/css" href="/index.php/tools/css/themes/greensalad/main.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" media="screen" type="text/css" href="/index.php/tools/css/themes/greensalad/typography.css" />

I don't call from tools, I call from the theme path.

Try looking at your 'root/config/site.php'

Maybe try looking at your server, the site takes a long time to download?

I have checked the config/site.php file and all seems exactly as it should be.

I read somewhere that I can delete the site.php file and that will start the installation process again. Would that be something you would recommend? Or would you recommend a fresh install?

I will be placing a support ticket with goDaddy, because I agree that the download time is ludicrously slow.

As far as the stylesheet, the template is a default one that comes with C5 so I am not sure why it calls it like it does. I will keep that in mind when I mess with a new template.

Thanks!

OK.
There has been issues with goDaddy, search the forums and you will find, but I thought they had been sorted?

My advise, if you can and it is not to much trouble, do a fresh install.

I might be wrong and I might get told off by other members, but that is what I do if all else fails.

Another tip is DO NOT install 'sample content' on install.

See how you go with that.

Good luck. and let me know how you get on.

Steev,
Well I had to dump the old site and do a fresh install. It wasn't too bad. I want to thank you for your assistance.

Thanks!
