not able to upload files

Hello Community,
I'm using 5.6.3.4. I recently posted in chit-chat about a few big issues I had been having. (https://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/chat/page-attributes-no-longer-work/#792636).
After taking the steps mentioned in the other post- basically removing all of the Pro Package Add-Ons and a few more I was not using.... the site seems to be working better with one major issue now:
I am not able to upload any files! The wheel just spins and spins...so I decide to "x" out and click on "return to website" and it then takes me to the home page but my log in is lost and I must sign back in again fresh. I also have another site running on 5.7 which I noticed is doing the same thing to me also- in December I was not having these issues on either site... any suggestions? big thanks.
