Not working properly: Index Search Engine Running for over 12 hours

OK, I give up! I haven't updated Concrete or changed any settings and everything ran cool until today.

First of all, here is my server info:

http://www.aceseowebdesign.com/serverinfo.php...

Now, when I go to the sitemap and try to delete older versions of my home page, I get this error message:

Unable to load sitemap data. Response received:
But then there is no response. And I could delete older versions of all the other pages except the home.

And, in what I think is a related matter, under Maintainence >> Scheduled Jobs, the "Index Search Engine" has been running for at least 12 hours for a 17-page site.

As for solutions that I have tried, I have tried all of the solutions on these pages:

I have even tried restarting my server and MYSQL but it didn't work.

Also, when I tried this:

If you wish to run these jobs in the background, automate access to the following URL:
http://aceseowebdesign.com/index.php/tools/required/jobs?auth=80cfe6aa22d0bc35aa2508b93d8d45ee&

It didn't work. I also tried the other "debug" variation:

http://aceseowebdesign.com/index.php/tools/required/jobs?auth=80cfe6aa22d0bc35aa2508b93d8d45ee&debug=1

Does anybody have any other fresh ideas? Until I get this straightened out, I can't really clean up my site?

One last thing, when one clicks on the radio button for "Enable Cache" and then hits the update button, should the radio button for "Enable Cache" remain checked? After I click "Update", the system says it was changed but then the "Disable Cache" is checked.

All the praise in whole world for the person that can figure these damn problems out.

Thanks,

Ed

Hi Ed,
Sorry to hear you are having problems.

What version of c5 are you using?

While I wait for your answer I'm going to try to recreate the problem with v5.3.1.1

P.S.
I think by default, when the page is loaded, the Disabled ratio button is selected.

And the debug URL you supplied gives me a "All Jobs Run Successfully" message. The non-debug URL is supposed to not return anything.

I haven't been able to recreate the sitemap problem with 5.3.1.1, however I have seen this problem before with 5.2. I will keep trying though.

If you are running anything lower than 5.3.1.1, I would highly recommend upgrading.

If you are running 5.3.1.1 this sounds like MySQL is hanging up on you.

You could try deleting the old versions from the database by hand. A very tedious job, but it will at least get rid of the old database entries.

I'll continue to try to figure out the problem.
