Other user able to edit users blog

Hi

User1 and User2 are able to create a blog page. Both users are in the same access group.

I would like User1 NOT to be able to edit User2 blog page that they have created. Is this possible ?

Thanks
Rob

Are you using advanced permissions?
If not this would give you more control.
See how-to:http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/designers/using-adva...

A good point to remember is that permissions are permissive.
If user group A has read/write access to all blogs and User Joe does not have access to one of those blogs - then the group permissions will still allow the User Joe to make changes.

I hope that makes sense!

Yep using advanced permissions. It would seem that the access is restricted at group level as when creating a blog (effectively a page) uses group level access. Hence anyone in the group can then edit.

I would have thought that creating any page the default restriction should be EDIT = Creator and Admin. I am wondering if there is a way to set this when a blog is created.

Cheers

The new pages that are being created... where have you set them to get their permissions from?

Are they inherited or are they based on page type?

They are inherited from the default Blog page type where registered users have read and write permission. User enters a standard page (sub pages inherit page type default permissions) and is only allowed to create a Blog type page as a sub page from it.

They click add page, choose the only option Blog and input the details eg name tags etc. Once the page is created which has all the standard layout they just save.
