Override package tools

HI, i am currently making some changes on a package "coreCommerce".

I want to change the tools/customize_product_search_columns.php

I have already made this file in the root/tools/customize_product_search_columns.php but the code is not using my code.

Any suggestions of how to override the tools of a package?
