After installing Concrete5 i am unable to insert Meta data because i get this error:

Note: Since you haven't checked this page out for editing, these changes will immediately be approved.

Anyone who has been able to fix this, please help

That is not an error, but an informational warning. You should still be able to update the meta description and save it.

I still do not see the save button. I have deployed numerous concrete5 websites and this is the first time i come across such troubling bug.

If you are not in edit mode, the changes are automatic (no save button) as noted in the warning. Its very quick but can be risky if you make mistakes.
I find it more helpful in most cases to edit/add meta data via the dashboard from the Bulk SEO page. You can find it at Dashboard > Systems & Settings > SEO & Statistics > Bulk SEO Updater. All your pages can be accessed from this one location and it prompts you to save. Its a huge work saver :)

Hope this helps you out
