password and editing

HELP!!! When I try logging in to my website, my user name and password "are not recognized." I have changed the password under my Concrete5 profile and it still is not allowing me access. I would very much like to edit my website and am not sure why I cannot log in after my initial several days' setup.

If you know how to help, please explain in third-grade terms, as I am NOT particularly IT-savvy (otherwise I wouldn't be asking, right??)

Thanks!!!

You should be able to do a password reset, given that you had to enter an email address to run the installer. Did you set up the site manually, or by an installer script through the hosting account?

If you can access phpmyadmin, you can look at the email address associated with the account. It is possible that you misspelled the email address (that has actually happened to me before).

Are you talking about your demo account on concrete5.org or have you installed a website with a hosting company?

I have a hosted website (it is up & running, I just can't log in to edit it.)

Would I be able to see the email I entered from my Concrete5 account profile? I did try a different email address just in case, but it tells me that email is not found. So, I assume the email I'm entering is correct, since when I request a password reset it "recognizes" my email. I just never get an email delivered telling me that it has been reset or what the new assigned password is.

What's confusing me is that you refer to your 'Concrete5 profile'. Are you referring to your profile on this website because there is no 'concrete5 profile' on a new website you installed on a new host like Bluehost or Siteround, etc.

Yes, sorry. My profile on this site is what I'm referring to. (Thank you for trying to help, by the way!!)

Your account on concrete5.org is not the same thing as logging into your new concrete5 website. They are separate things. What host are you using to host your new website?

Hey, if there is a How-to written about it then you must not be the only one confused. Glad you got it sorted out.
