Paypal Pro/Business + eCommerce = help?

I realize this is something that one would pay a developer to do, and they could probably do it fairly expediently, yet for those who just wanna integrate Paypal Pro (or Business, a non-standard route)into eCommerce nice and friendly... A walk through would be awesome. I know people are doing this allover, partly because they have put the time into research and sandboxing, but for a starving college student who is trying to please a client: Any directions on to how to implememnt a custom payment processor that utilizes paypal pro? Forgive me if the resources are in plain site! I'll keep looking!

Hi dlloyd, Did you ever figure this out? I need to integrate my site with paypal and I don't know where to start.

PayPal is so confusing with their terminology. Which PayPal are you trying to use? I think it's called Website Payments, Website Payments Pro, PayFlow Pro and something else. They all work a bit differently, so it helps to know which one you were aiming for

I Agree on the confusing part.

I am moving a client from a paypal account where they set up the items in paypal and then had to copy and paste the code into their site. (PayPal was acting as the cart).

I am guessing that eCommerce will now act as the cart and then pass the total over to paypal for payment ?

I am fairly new to using PayPal so any insight will help. Where you start talking money people get upset quickly so I do not want to get it wrong.
