Permissions / Content Access by Database
Permalink
I am planning a site that will have a lot of content which will be unique to specific interest groups. Before discovering Concrete5, I was expecting to put the content for each of these interest groups in their own database, but I don't see any provision for that here. Instead it seems you would want me to accomplish this by having a restricted page for each interest group and then all their content on the subpages of that Page. Is this right? Is this the best way to accomplish my goal? How is this impacted by selling subscriptions to these various databases / specialized content pages? Because I am certain to eventually have members who want access to multiple databases / specialized content. I also saw somewhere something about running multiple sites out of a single Concrete5 core. I don't know anything about that yet, but is that the way I should go here, with multiple sites instead of specialized content pages?
Thank you for your help, and I am glad I found Concrete5. I can't believe what people were going to charge me to custom build the features you have by default!

If later down the road someone wanted access to another group's pages you could just add them to that group as well. Users can be in multiple groups.
I hope that helps!
