Did something get changed on the Permissions Documentation page under the Advanced Permissions instructions?
There is no example of the line of PHP required after the sentence
"To enable advanced permissions, add the following line to "config/site.php":"
It was there a couple weeks ago, so I wonder if someone was editing and accidentally omitted it?

For some reason after I upgraded to v5.4 advanced permissions disappeard.
Really wierd...
Maybe some sort of bug...

Some how I cleared the cache from firefox and added this to the config/site.php file

yeah stupid tinyMCE keeps stripping that.. its back now.
Just to add my experience, I upgraded from 5.3.3 with advanced permissions and had no issues with it remaining turned on.
