[Profile] "Add to My Friends" link doesn't do the job...

I try to add an user by clicking "Add to My Friends" link at his profile page; it redirect me to my profile page and under "My Friends" it said: no results found.
I tried many times, but nothing works.
I tried with browsers (last version):
Internet Explorer 8
Firefox 3.5.3
Opera 10
Am I missing something here?
