Publish Date/Time for Block

Is there I way I can schedule content on a page down to the block level? I know I can turn on Advanced Permissions and schedule content at the page level, but I want to be able to have a set of blocks on my "Specials" page so I can put in each of my weekly specials in advance and have the blocks publish/unpublish automatically.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

don't think so- only way I can think of is schedule another page appearing with the desired block, and then show that block in the page with global areas.
That's what I came up with too...it just seems so long winded. And you have to create another page within the site node...which really isn't necessary.
If all I want to do is display a set of upcoming weekly specials, you'd think there would be a way to schedule that out so I can "set it and forget it."
How feasible is it to modify the Content Block to be able to do something like this? Would it require major changes to the core?

I would be interested in this solution since we're coming from the joomla cms and it had the option to start/end publish dates.
I'd also be interested in this sort of publish/remove functionality. Great for events, diaries and general housekeeping.
Would a feature like this require a change to every single block type in order to support scheduled content down to the block level? Or would this be something that you could change at the Area level and let the area control the dates for each block scheduled within?
Did any of you find a solution for this?
Hi All, any solution for this? I'm building a restaurant site with "today's special" Monday to Friday, and I would like them to change automatically.

Actually there is a plugin in the marketplace that does exactly that but it seems the dev doesn't want to sell it anymore so he priced it at $250 and left a note saying it was not for sale anymore. Maybe if you contact him and ask him about it you two can work something out.
