Removing Third Party Contractor From Admin

Our company owns the domain ( hosted by hostmonster ) and we use Concrete5 to develop and maintain the site.

However, the admin control (during development) has been in the hands of a third party contractor who has done most of the work on the site.

Now that their work is completed, we need to remove the contractor from logging into the site and create ourselves as the admin to do minor updates.

Any ideas or help is appreciated.

Hi I'm new here, but just stumbled across your post.

Can't you just change the password?

Firstly are you able to login to the dashboard, if so you could go to Users & Groups within the dashboard, you can find it in the left side-bar.

Once you are there you shall see the Adminstrator user and also other users if they were created, you need to click on the username then click on Edit user and change the old password to a newer one. You can also change the email address that is associated with the Admin account.

I can get to the Dashboard and the Users & Groups.

At U&G, I see two Users listed ... me and the contractor.

When I click on my username, I get the View User panel with an Edit User button.

When I click on the "admin" username (set up by the contractor), the View User panel DOES NOT display an Edit User button.

We need to prevent the contractor from accessing the site and potentially removing content or damaging the work that has been done.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Seems like the Contractor has set-up advanced permissions, which restricts you from editing the contractor's user details.

I hope some Concrete 5 guru would give you appropriate advise on how to resolve this, since I as a webmaster of small and medium sites have never used advanced permissions with my clients site till date, although what I understand is by reading the documentation.
