Replacing Site Name with Logo
Permalink
I'm working in concrete5 using the Plain Yogurt template. I'm trying to add my logo in place of the site name and have tried following instructions I found in the forums which suggested I work through Global Scrabook. Since I only have Admin's Personal Scrapbook with no option to edit, I created a new scrapbook called "Global Scrapbook" hoping this might do the trick, but no cigar. Nothing appears in it nor is there any edit option (since there's nothign to edit).
Is there an easy way to replace the site name which appears at the top left of each page with my logo? Any ideas or alternatives to replace the site name with my logo graphic? THANKS in advance - I'm pulling my hair out especially since I suspect there's an easy fix!

still stuck?
You're really kind to check back...and, yes, I'm embarrassed to say I'm still stuck. I'm new to Concrete5 and while it seems intuitive and simple enough - and I've got the site up and running no problem, I can't sort this one issue. I'm working off the software located on my host server (Bluehost) and I haven't actually downloaded Concrete5. Is that a problem? I'm worried about overwriting files. I was hoping there was a simple way to make this change within the program I'm accessing at Bluehost. Yes? No? Feel free to LOL - I'd laugh at me too here expect I'm too frustrated to crack a smile!
it should be easy if the global scrapbook was just present from the start, which you say it wasn't.. I can look into you site if you are willing to give me access, but else I can try to help you without.. in the dashboard -> scrapbook.. how many and which scrapbooks are available when you are logged in as admin ?
From the Dashboard, logged in as "admin," when I go to Scrapbook, there is only one appearing, titled "admin's Personal Scrapbook".
FYI, when I click on the "admin's Personal Scrapbook" it opens and is titled "User Scrabook". It contains two things - my logo which I uploaded, and "Auto-nav" with links below to each of my pages.
I did create a scrapbook named "Global Scrapbook" but this wasn't effective.
I can't thank you enough for trying to help me! If you have any other ideas, I'm all ears.

that sounds strange.... I think something was messed up in the core then, as the global scrapbook should be present from installation... don't really know how to help you then, if you are not willing to make some hardcoding as I was referring to in my first post... otherwise I think you have to reinstall C5 :-(
I'm definiting will to change the coding per your instructions. I went to concrete5/themes, but the the only themes listed are core, dark_chocolate, default, greensalad. I'm using plain yogurt - so how can it be absent from the list?
default is plain yogurt theme,
but wait! don't edit it in /concrete/themes!
copy it to /themes then edit it.

I've managed to get my logo into the header...BUT it only appears on the homepage. What's odd is that when I go to each individual page in the editor (other than the homepage), there is a box with a red "X" and "Logo" in it. BUT, when I'm in editing mode, I suddenly see the logo. As soon as I exit edit mode, it returns to the box with the red "X". Any ideas what's causing this? I want to resolve this so I can stop pestering you all with my questions.
I've answered this question before here:

hope this helps you!
