Replacing (updating) multiple files

I am trying to find a way to update ('replace') multiple files (mostly images, some are new versions of downloadable files).

The problem im having is the singular way of doing this is far too slow (i have over 1000 files to replace... ) updated products etc etc..

Is there a way to enable C5 to replace the images if they have the same name (instead of adding a new one..with the same name.. why why why would you do that?! I see no logical sense to create a duplicate file with the same name as opposed to replacing it..)

I know I can load them all into the incoming folder (very handy for uploading a large amount of files.. good job there!) however, clicking each image/file individually, choosing replace (even replacing from incoming folder) is nightmarishly slow...

Is there a better way? PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE...?

If not can this PLEASE be addressed soon, as this is a major part of our sites.

Many thanks!

My front end file uploader addon has a capability to replace files with the same name. Because that is potentially dangerous, it only does it if all the filesets match.

It also has a very fast drag/drop multiple upload facility.
