Do you mean setting default page attributes?

You can go into the Dashboard, Page Types and then Settings against each page type to select what are the default attributes for a particular page type.

Going one step further, if you are using the Composer, you can configure it to display which attributes are shown in the list of things to complete out when adding a new page.

In other words, explore your options in the Page Types section of the Dashboard.

I wasn't referring to default values. Some attributes I have are select boxes and I don't always know which one the user will need to select, but, forcing them to make a selection is more what I'm looking for.
