Restricting User Attributes
Permalink
I was wondering if there is a way to restrict user defined attributes during new user registration? For instance if you define a field for "Date of Birth" is there a way to restrict what the user can enter as a valid entry for that field. I've done some checking and the only thing that I could find was specifying the valid length of the username and password. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
in 5.3.3 (release candidate available on source forge) custom attributes have been completely rethought and this is more feasible.
There is not 5.3.3 RC on SourceForge page. Link?

is it stable? I wouldn't want to take down other parts of the site, essentially causing more work
It's RC (Release Candidate).
I just downloaded and installed it. Got an Exception when trying to add a Slide Show based on a Set.

Sounds a bit iffy to implement on a live site
actually it's not gonna be a RC next week. We need that out so please keep testing and we'll keep fixing as we hear from you.
These things never mature if you don't beat on them.

okay I'll give it a shot and see what happens
I'm doing the tests locally. Would have done some more tests if I knew the RC is available.
Anyway, there is another issue.
With a screen resolution of 1024X768, When opening the File Manager (while editing), the Upload button isn't displayed completely and More link isn't displayed.

The issue (filed in bug tracker) of displaying the locale's calendar still exists.
It's only a matter of fixing a single line!
