Same block on multiple pages

Hello,
I have tried to use the same content block on all the pages of the same page type (although I use one). The thing is that I set the defaults for the page type as Franz demonstrated on the video but what went wrong was:
- The home page didn't update even thought I made it to work on child pages and select the home page.
- When I updated the block on any page, it will update on that one page and not all pages.
So now, I wanted to know what should I do to have one content block on all the pages of the page type?

do some searching in this forum for global blocks, hardcoded blocks, and scrapbook blocks and that'll point you in the right direction. Global scrapbook blocks let you change the block once in the scrapbook, and it'll change everywhere else it's placed at the same time.
